ISP FUNNY
Just something I noticed while mucking around with perl and servers and httpd.
probably means nothing to anyone else but i thought it was funny. go to www.isp.net.au and
view the source of the page have a look at the meta tags (at the top) for "description" and "keywords". then have at the source for www.ozemail.com.au.
Just a little reminder to people that when copying code make sure you read what you are copying fully and in this case change every reference to the original owner.
See I told you it was useless crap...

"A small, very fast and powerful text extractor that will be of particular interest to programmers. It can extract text from any kind of file and includes the ability to find plain ASCII text, Unicode (double byte ANSI) text and Resource strings, providing useful information for each item in the optional "advanced" view mode. Its comprehensive filtering helps prevent unwanted text being listed. The gathered list can be searched and saved to a separate file as either a plain text file or in informative tabular format."

AD-AWARE
Remove Shit from your PC. Download Ad-aware run the software, it removes most of the spyware crap.
Most people are familiar with freeware, shareware, cookies, media players, interactive content, and file sharing. What they may not realize is that some of the aforementioned may contain code or components that allow the developers of these applications and tools to actually collect and disseminate information about those using them.
They can track your surfing habits, abuse your Internet connection by sending this data to a third party, profile your shopping preferences, hijack your browser start page or pages, alter important system files, and can do this without your knowledge or permission. The security and privacy implications of these exploits should be quite obvious and undesirable on any system or network!

CALL COST CALCULATOR
At First I thought this was shit, I tried it out and it was. It didnt work and didnt recognise the number. But now it seems to be improved a little and works. Just a handy link, great for finding out how much money you have spent because you were stupid enough to download a dialer program from a Porn site that calls a number in Brazil.
PS. No I didnt download a dialer from a porn site. I have heard stories though of people who have and it ends up costing them hundreds.

LIFE DAY
Its seems next year that many shops are going to change "Christmas day" to "Life day" to allow the many non-christian religions to
join in on the whole present buying craze that seems to hit people around christmas time. The image of Santa is also going to be changed,
Many Santas next year will not have beards, they will still wear red but no hat. Also because of the health concious society Santas cant look fat and must be fit.
From the Sunday Telegraph 8/12/02 pg 42
Got to get one of these

KAZAA LITE
A little thing I noticed with KazaaLite, Im not sure if Kazaa does this or not but when you
run kazaalite it sets up a http server on your machine. I noticed this when I scanned the ports
on my machine and found that port 80(The Well-Known http port) was Active, which was odd. To see what was up I simply
went to good old Internet Explorer and typed in http://203.220.165.236/ (That was my IP at the time
could be still the same, try it). to my surprise A page loaded with a list of all the things that
are in my shared folder for kazaalite. I decided to download a file from the site (off my computer but
through the site) It worked! In kazzalite it showed a file being uploaded from my computer but the user
didn't show up. Meaning maybe, if you know someone is running kazza and know there IP you can download
things that are in their shared folder, without using Kazaa. This too most people will mean nothing and
sounds like Im rambling on about shit, I just thought it was cool.
It could come in handy or could be a problem.

You know when you watch Rage sometimes on saturday nights at like 1:30 and you dont know what
you are listening too, but it seems to stick in your head! The song "Pocket Calculator"
Is one of those songs. Thanks too Johnny Kaboom for pointing out that KraftWork sang
that song. Its one song off a list of unknown songs that live in my head. That wasnt the only song by the same band "We Are The Robots" was also
removed from the unknown list when I found it while searching Kraftwork on the kazaa Networks.
